    Gauge EV Charging is a New Zealand-based platform offering smart EV charging solutions for residential, commercial, and public spaces. Our system manages user access, monitors charging sessions, handles billing, and provides features like scheduling and load management.
  • How does the Gauge software work?
    Our software allows users to locate chargers, initiate charging sessions via QR code or RFID card, monitor charging progress in real-time, and handle payments seamlessly through the Gauge app.
  • How are users billed?
    Users are billed based on the amount of electricity consumed during their charging sessions. The system calculates costs according to the tariff set by the charger owner or body corporate.
  • How do I add a payment method?
    In the Gauge app: Navigate to the menu. Select 'Payment Methods.' Add your credit or debit card details.
  • Can the body corporate monitor charging activity?
    Yes, property managers and body corporates have access to a dashboard that provides insights into charging sessions, energy consumption, and revenue reports.
  • Can we set our own charging rates?
    Absolutely. You can define tariff rates that suit your property's needs, whether it's a flat fee, time-based, or energy-based pricing.
  • Does the Body Corporate get reimbursed?
    Yes. The Body Corporate selects the tariff rate, and revenue is paid back monthly based on energy used.
  • When are reimbursements paid?
    We carry out a monthly reimbursement to the nominated Body Corporate account.
  • How do I start a charging session?
    Open the Gauge app. Scan the QR code on the charger or enter the station ID. Plug in your vehicle. Tap 'Start Charging' in the app. Click on this for more information : How to start a charging session?
  • How do I stop a charging session?
    In the app, tap 'Stop Charging.' Unplug your vehicle.
  • Can I use an RFID card?
    Yes. You can link an RFID card to your Gauge account: In the app, go to 'RFID Cards.' Tap 'Add RFID Card' and follow the instructions. Once linked, simply tap your RFID card on the charger to start or stop a session.
  • What should I do if I encounter an error on the charger?
    If you see an error message or the charger isn't functioning: Check the app for any notifications.   • How do I delete my Gauge account?
    In the app: Click on your user name on the side bar menu. Select 'Remove Account' and follow the prompts.

    Real-time charger status monitoring. Load management to optimize energy usage. Detailed reporting and analytics. User access control. Scheduled charging sessions.
  • Is the data stored securely?
    Yes, all user data is stored on secure servers in compliance with New Zealand data protection laws.
